The Baltimore Ravens and the Arizona Cardinals announced on Friday, November 6, 2026, that their trade for quarterback Jacoby Brissett was complete. Baltimore receives Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round pick, and sends Arizona a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick.
The deal closes four days before the NFL trade deadline, which falls on Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. ET.
A quarterback room emptied by injury
Lamar Jackson has a thumb injury that requires surgery and may end his season. He was placed on injured reserve before Thursday night's game and will miss at least three more; head coach Jesse Minter declined to say whether the surgery had already happened or whether Jackson could return this year. "I'm not going to speak on that," he said, in remarks reported by ESPN.
Tyler Huntley, who has turf toe, will miss the rest of the season, according to ESPN's sources. That left undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano to make his first NFL start on Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars: he completed 10 of 18 passes for 60 yards with two interceptions, and Baltimore lost 33-10.
Four weeks of collapse
At 4-5, the Ravens have now been held under 14 points in four consecutive games — a franchise record for futility — and have lost by 20 points or more in three straight, which had never happened in the team's 31-year history.
What Brissett brings
Brissett is 33 and in his eleventh NFL season, with 73 career starts. He started Arizona's first eight games this year, throwing for 1,719 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions, before being benched in the third quarter of a 33-30 overtime win over Dallas. He was then listed third on the depth chart behind Gardner Minshew II and rookie Carson Beck, and asked for a trade the following Monday.
Over his last 20 games, beginning in Week 6 of 2025, he led the league in dropbacks, completions and attempts — and was sacked 62 times, tied for the most in the NFL over that stretch.
"He took a lot of shots, kept getting up," Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort said.
Arizona restructured his contract before the trade, converting $2.7 million of his $5.4 million in remaining salary into a signing bonus. The Ravens owe a $2.43 million base salary plus incentives.
In Baltimore he rejoins quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork, who worked with him in Arizona in 2025 and in Cleveland in 2022. His debut is expected on Monday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
