The Brewers homered three times off Blake Snell and beat the Dodgers 6-2 to take a 3-0 NLCS lead

Jake Bauers won an 11-pitch at-bat with a two-run homer in the seventh and Garrett Mitchell followed. Los Angeles must now win four straight.

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday to take a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series, leaving the defending champions one defeat from the end of their season.

Jackson Chourio homered on the first pitch he saw from Blake Snell to put Milwaukee ahead 1-0. Snell then settled into the best stretch of the night by either pitcher, retiring 14 batters in a row at one point and allowing nothing else until the seventh inning.

The sixth gave Los Angeles the lead, and the seventh took it back

Milwaukee's Robert Gasser held the Dodgers scoreless through five innings before being lifted in the sixth. His replacement, Abner Uribe, walked three batters in that inning and then gave up a two-run double to Will Smith, which put Los Angeles in front 2-1.

The lead lasted one half-inning. Jake Bauers worked an 11-pitch at-bat against Snell in the seventh and ended it with a two-run homer for a 3-2 Milwaukee lead. Garrett Mitchell homered immediately after him, and the Brewers finished with six runs.

"Obviously, [hitting a home run] isn't what I'm trying to do, but I got a good pitch to hit," Mitchell said of his.

Where both series stand

Milwaukee has now won all three games of the series, after a 2-1 win in Game 1 on Sunday and a 7-4 win in Game 2 on Monday. Game 4 is Thursday night in Los Angeles. To reach the World Series, the Dodgers would have to win four consecutive games against a team that has not lost one to them yet.

The American League Championship Series is the opposite picture. Cleveland took Game 1 from the Tampa Bay Rays 7-3 on Monday; Tampa Bay answered 3-1 on Tuesday, and the series is tied 1-1. Game 3 moves to Cleveland on Thursday, and its start time was pulled forward from 6 p.m. ET to 1 p.m. ET because of the weather forecast.
